DID YOU KNOW?

The manufacture of glass in Washington, Pennsylvania, was stimulated by the discovery of abundant oil and natural gas in the 1880s. The Duncan & Miller factory was the second of the six factories producing glass of all types, from window glass to fine tableware, located in Washington by 1900.

FAQs

Is there parking available?

Yes. Visitors can enjoy free, convenient on-site parking for up to 40 vehicles. We’re located just minutes from the I-70/I-79 interchange, and the museum and parking areas are fully handicap accessible.

Do you offer tours?

Yes. NDGS offers a variety of tour experiences to suit different interests and group sizes. Visitors may explore the museum through self-guided tours or participate in docent-led tours for a more in-depth experience. Private, custom tours are also available, including small group tours and full bus tours.

In addition to tours, NDG can host teas and small catered events, served with antique china, vintage silver, and vintage glassware.

Please visit our Events page for the 2026 schedule of public programs. Private tours and events are not included on the public schedule and may be arranged separately.

Do you have children's programs?

Yes. NDGS offers regular programming for children, including our popular Touch the Glass display, which provides a hands-on learning experience. We also welcome homeschool groups by appointment.

In addition, we are planning to introduce a S.T.E.A.M. program in the spring. Please check back for updates as new children’s programming becomes available.
